President-elect Donald Trump not only announced the selection of North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as Secretary of the Interior but added the title of Chairman of the newly formed National Energy Council, which Bracewell’s Frank Maisano told the States Newsroom is the Trump administration “signaling ahead of time that this is one of their priority areas.”
Maisano added that Burgum has the experience to potentially expand both fossil-fuel and sustainable-energy sources.
“He’s familiar with all aspects of energy, because as governor of an all-of-the-above energy state, he has to be,” Maisano said.
